Deirdre Devine - Lán Mara Studio
Deirdre Devine was born in Culdaff village
in the Inishowen Peninsula and
studied painting in Belfast.
The Northwest of Ireland, and in particular Inishowen,
has been her most
enduring creative inspiration both as a painter and as a poet.
Landscape and people feature throughout her visual and written work, much
of which is a celebration of the area, past and present.
Deirdre has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions and has
contributed poetry
to various publications and anthologies. In 2001 she published the book Pictures
in the Window - a reflection on the life of the artist Willie
Doran in memory
of the respected Culdaff artist.
Her studio, Lán Mara, is
approximately 1.6 km from Culdaff village, on
the road to Bunagee Pier and overlooks the beautiful river estuary at Culdaff
Bay.
Work in a variety of media can be viewed there and publications are available.
The studio is open by appointment.
